What is the first session like?
Our first session is utilized to establish our initial goals for therapy. I will complete an assessment of questions that include your previous mental health history, family history, and previous treatment history. I usually assign some form of homework to reflect on prior to next scheduled session. We will also schedule our follow up sessions at this time.
Do I need to prepare anything for my first session?
I only recommend clients to begin to think about their goals for therapy prior to the first session. I trust completely in the therapeutic process that we will discuss topics and situations as we are supposed to.
